Les conditions de ce scrutin ont été contestées par l’opposition russe et plusieurs capitales occidentales, l’Union européenne (UE) et l’OSCE ont exprimé des inquiétudes ou des réserves quant à son déroulement. L’Allemagne a même dénoncé un scrutin ni libre ni démocratique.
De son côté, la Maison Blanche a de nouveau demandé lundi à Moscou d’enquêter sur les accusations de fraude portées après les législatives russes et a indiqué que le président George W. Bush n’avait pas l’intention d’appeler son homologue Vladimir Poutine pour le féliciter. Mais quelle est donc la vision de la démocratie de M. Sarkozy ?
